St. Andrew's Church School serves pre-school through high school in two classes: preschool through primary and 6th through 12th grade. The program operates from September through June and provides Christian education to the younger members of our parish family by incorporating prayer, crafts, and bible stories into our lessons. Classes start at 9;45 AM. At 10:30 the children join their families in the Sanctuary for the rest of the liturgy.
The Sunday School program at St. Andrew's is dedicated to the belief that parents are the primary faith educators of their own children and that parish programs support and enable that primary role. We believe that parents have an obligation to support their children's religious education by encouraging their church school attendance and not enabling absenteeism.
Church School is dependent on the number of children enrolled during the year. It is therefore important for parents to ensure that their children are in church. At the end of the year students are given a certificate of participation that takes attendance into consideration.
Our Sunday school staff of volunteers provide religious instruction for the children. They strive to make this learning opportunity relevant and meaningful by using a lectionary-based Episcopal curriculum. They provide a positive loving environment in which a child can learn about his/her faith, find friends and have fun.
